Halloween in July 2019
Halloween in July 2019
Black defeated Green 15-9 in the early game. The game featured a ghoul, death, a dinosaur and other costume apparel for the first few points, but it was simply too hot. Much candy was consumed. Keegs arrived early to practice his candy catching for the prime time game.
In prime time, Yellow squared off against White in a game that featured a dragon-banana matchup, followed by a dragon-snowman. Yellow was short on numbers, and the game was close. Keegs had to devote too much time to playing seriously to catch candy in his mouth, though he was showing clear ability during his warmups. Winning bettors picked the under. As for the game itself, it was a lot of fun to watch with both teams making some great plays, as well as some ill advised hucks that didn't work out. Dasha, in a yellow tutu, got the game winning score roofing a male defender. The final was Yellow 15 - White 12.
In the late game, Schmack was sporting the best costume of the night. She was dressed as opposing captain, Chris America, complete with tattoos, one of which was drawn by Chris himself using his own tattoo as a guide. They were eerily similar. The game also featured a centurion and an avocado. At one point in the game, Shmack scored a bookends point dressed as Chris, while guarded by the real Chris. It may have been the most meta moment in the history of the Kiln. Blue won the game, 15-11, but did they really? Shmack won the best costume award - a disc from the commish's private stash.
Will the real Chris please stand up?
Things I learned tonight:
Thanks to everyone for making our Halloween in July a fun and succcessful night of disc!
