It was sweltering at the Kiln tonight. Green had five players but elected to forfeit to pick up others and have some subs, including White stars Justin and Nick. Raeburn made his season debut for White and made a variety of athletic plays. White picked up Eric of the Rivers and your humble commissioner. Hans also made a guest appearance. The pickup game was a one point affair, back and forth. Much water was consumed during timeouts. Nobody melted or needed hospitalization.

In prime time, the heat caused a savage Yellow squad to catch fire early, going on a 6-0 run. Blue put together a few points, but sweaty hands led to some drops. Ultimately Yellow came away with a 15-6 win.

In the late game, Red was thinking they'd be short handed until a band of Red clad discslingers sauntered down the hill just before the flip. Black put up a good fight, but Red got the win 15-10.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July. The Lime Kiln Rec will be open on Thursday, July 5th, so we do expect to have games. See our schedule.

Reminder: Halloween in July is coming up in two short weeks. It'll be observed on Thursday, July 19 (rain date the following week if necessary). Time to start planning your hot weather appropriate costume that you can play disc in. Candy will be served.
