Black had a nice turnout for the early game, while Green was savage and missing core players. Green put up a valiant effort, but Black won their second straight. 15-5 was the final.
In prime time, White was savage but had an athletic seven. Yellow had a few subs, but also had sore players from the Funk's triumph at Ow, My Knee over the weekend. Yellow opened the game 2-0 before White got in the flow of their offense. White was up a break 8-7 at half. Yellow tied the score to start the second, only to give up two points to White, bringing the White lead to 10-8. Yellow battled back again, tying the score at 12-12 as the clock struck 8:30. Universe point. White worked the disc up field patiently, and held to score the game winner, 13-12. It was Yellow's first loss since early June, and a nice win by a short-handed but chilly White team.
The late game between Blue and Red also proved to be close, but Red notched the one point win, 15-14. With the win and Yellow's loss, Red is now the hottest team in the league as winners of six straight, dating back to June 25th. In spite of Yellow's long win streak, tonight's results put Red only a half game back with one more in the loss column (Red's storm shortened loss to Green on June 18th).
Red and Yellow have faced each other only twice this season due to a rainout. Red won the season opener convincingly, while Yellow won a close rematch by only one point. The two teams are scheduled to play in prime time this Thursday, with first place on the line!
