Summer Playoffs Round 1 - Thursday, August 3, 2017

Blue was dominant early and led by two in the first half, Red battled back. Blue led by two again in the second - solid plays all around - but Red would not be denied. Red went on a final run late and won by a point. Some crazy athletic bids for Blue, and clutch plays by Red to seal the deal late. The game really could have gone either way. Final was 12-11 Red.

In the late game, Yellow's zone was heating up and they led 8-5 in the second half. Black tightened up their possessions and went on a big run late, winning the game 13-9. So, both of tonight's playoff games were great contests that ended up chalk.

Tonight's results set up an epic rematch of Red vs Green in the 2nd round of the playoffs Monday at 7PM. White plays Black in the late playoff game Monday, two teams that have also played some great games this summer. Yellow and Blue players, come on out, show your spirit and cheer your friends on.

• Summer 2017 All Stars and League Awards - I will post a ballot survey as soon as captains name the all stars from each team. League awards will be announced after the Championship next Thursday, followed immediately by the All Star Game!
• Our Fall season signup! I'm hoping to get that posted this Friday. Playing in the Fall is free if you've already paid the fee for this Summer. You can't beat that deal. New players are also welcome to add for Fall, with fees the same as summer. Once we have a handle on how many players we'll have this Fall, we'll name captains and redraft. The past few years, we've had four teams in the Fall and a double-elimination playoff format. That's been a blast, but if we have enough folks I'd also be happy to stay at six teams.
