Black defeated Red 15-10 in the early game, playing savage in the process. White defeated Green in the prime time game by scores reported at first as eleventeen to fish, and later suggested as stromboli to ΨΦΣ, which I think is pronounced "psphssss," kind of like the noise when John Goodman sits on a beach ball. I digress. The point is, White won. Yellow defeated Blue 13-10 in the late game.
Current playoff seeding redux:
- White has clinched the one seed
- Blue has clinched the two seed
- Red has clinched the six seed
That leaves Yellow, Green and Black all still alive for the three seed, with Yellow currently in 3rd place, followed closely by Green, then Black.
- With their win tonight and Green's loss, Yellow can clinch the three seed simply by beating Green next Thursday by more than one point, or by beating Black next Monday if Green loses to Red.
- Green can pass Yellow and reclaim the three seed by winning both of their games next week. They currently hold the tie break vs Yellow, leading the season series 2-1, but there is only a one point differential, so if Green loses to Yellow by only a point next Thursday, I'd have to calculate the overall point differential to determine the third tie-break (the series would be 2-2, and the point differential between the two teams would be equal)... so I suppose it really is important that somebody post the actual final score between White and Green tonight. I think White won by about six points. (Greg said White 15-9, which sounds right to me, so I'm updating the schedule with that score.)
- Black is on the outside looking in at the 3 seed, but they could rise that high if they win their last two games, Yellow loses their last two games (including head to head vs Black on Monday), and Green loses to Red on Monday. Black's tie with Blue earlier in the season gives them a half point in the standings that can help them pass the teams above them if Green or Yellow falter.
Overall, really too close to call what the 3-4-5 seeds will be. It will be decided on the field next week!
