Blue vs Green was rained out on Thursday, October 29, so that game was played tonight.
Both teams started savage, but each had one sub arrive late. Blue started strong, building a 6-3 lead. Green went on a run to tie the score, but Blue was up 7-6 at halftime, and received the second half pull. Green got a break to tie the score at 7-7. Blue went up 8-7, and then Green went on a three point run to lead 10-8. Blue battled back, tied the score again, and had a chance to win at the end of regulation, but time expired with the score tied 12-12. Blue won the toss and received the disc to start a five minute overtime. Green got a break and took the lead 13-12. Blue called timeout and worked the disc downfield to tie the score at 13-13. With under a minute to play, Green received the pull and worked the disc down the field. With under ten seconds to play, Emory Crane broke away from his handler position and cut for the end zone, catching the game winning point as time expired. Final score: Green 14 - Blue 13.
Both teams had good handler play, swinging the disc and making patient throws. Overall, a well played game that was fun to watch. Congratulations, Blue, for a strong run in the playoffs - taking it to the limit vs both Green and Red.
Green plays Red this Thursday, November 5th, at 7 PM. Red can win the Fall 2015 championship with a victory. If Green wins, the two teams will have a rematch at 7 PM on Monday, November 9th.
