Purple finally got their jerseys, and they were rocking them in the early game tonight. Buoyed by big throws from Adam and Jared, the team opened a big lead on struggling Red, going into the half up 7-4. Purple continued to hold a 3-point margin into the second, 9-6, but a switch to zone defense by Red appeared to rattle Purple. Red went on a run and tied the score at 10-10. With about a minute and a half to play, Red led 12-11 with Purple receiving the pull. Purple worked the disc down the field, but Red knocked away what would have been the tying score and ran out the clock to win by one. Great game, Purple.
Black and Green both made some good plays in the late game, but Black was able to remain undefeated, winning 14-9.
Red gets a chance to end Black's unbeaten streak and avenge Red's only loss so far this season as the two teams meet at 6:30 on Monday. Purple will face Green at 7:45.
Reminder: there are no games next Thursday, September 11th. The town is having Special Olympics events at the field that night.
