The Summer 2014 Championship was close. White had a one point lead at the half, and Red tied the score early in the second. However, as the second half wore on, a few mistakes by Red and solid play by White allowed Bobby Owens and the White team to pull away. Play of the game was a "game changing mega-bid" by Bri Broski. Her layout score was so impressive it earned a hug from her defender, and wild cheers from the sidelines. Final score was White 16 - Red 12. Congratulations, White! Summer 2014 Champions.

Following the Championship game, we held our first ever (I think) league awards ceremony. The winners were:

Female Callahan: Bri Broski

Male Callahan: Emory Crane

Sportsman: Jim Ground (Thanks very much, everyone. Don't blame me: I voted for Waldie.)

Most Fun team: Yellow

Most Spirited team: Yellow

Captain of the Year: Jimmy O'Connell

Rookie of the Year: Rachel Garben

Best Defender: (tie) Justin Lamarche and Nick Cortina

Best Handler: Matt Keegan

Best Cutter: Bobby Owens

Our first ever All Star Game between Team Bri and Team Gary ended in a 15-13 win for Team Gary. Thanks very much to Bri and Gary for being our most excellent All-Star captains, and thanks to our All Stars, players and fans who made tonight's festivities a lot of fun. Great season, everyone.
