The fall playoffs continued, with Black meeting Red. If Black won, they would be the fall champs. If Red won, the two teams would meet again on Thursday to decide the league championship. The score was back and forth through the first half, with Black getting narrow leads and Red tying it back up repeatedly. Red got a couple of breaks and took a one point lead early in the second half. Then it was Black's turn to force ties again and again. Red held the disc with a chance to win as the final minute ticked off the clock only to turn it over. Black called timeout with four seconds remaining, but failed to convert and the game went into overtime tied 13-13. Red won the toss and received the pull to begin a 5-minute overtime. The first point lasted over three minutes, ending in a break point for Black. Red scored to tie at 14-14, and with under a minute left in OT, forced a turnover and scored again. The final was 15-14, Red.
This was the third overtime game in a row between these two teams, setting the stage for an epic championship final this Thursday. (Since rain is in the forecast, that game may need to move to next Monday.)
