None of today's games were close: White doubling up Gray, Red doubling up Yellow, and Green doubling up Black to earn their first win of the season. With six games completed, White is 5-1, Yellow 4-2, Gray and Red both 3-3, Black 2-4, and Green 1-5. The standings are symmetrical... but will that last?
All of the teams are improving their chemistry as the players learn each other's strengths and weaknesses. Turnout is also a factor, as it often has been in the past. With some players unable to make games due to work, injury, or other commitments, teams who are short-handed often struggle against teams who have subs. That said, it is still looking like the highest level of play we've had. All the teams have some players with college or club experience.
Games have been fun to watch, too. It is common to see players from other teams on the sidelines watching games - especially in the 7:15 timeslot. If you can, come early or stay late to check out another game! You can also throw, do drills and talk strategy with your own team, and, of course, volunteers to keep time and score for games are always appreciated. Thanks!
