What a fantastic first tournament of the Eastern Region Series! Every team got to play 6 games, every team in the ladies and the men's won at least one game on the day, everything ran smoothly as all teams turned up in time, everyone officiated when needed and finally everyone played in the right spirit; so thanks to all who came along and played in the first of six tournaments this season. A slightly different format this season with timed games rather than the Superset 50, and also points for losing a game IF the team were within 10 points of the winners, but everyone adapted well. Perhaps six games of 30mins was a little too much volleyball on the day, so well done to everyone for lasting the entire day!
Spikers are winners with 6 convincing wins, only GNG Bedford and UEA got within 10 points of Spikers. Second place went to Medusa, who also had many convincing wins and only lost one game. 3rd place went to GNG Bedford who had the same points as UEA, but GNG won more rallies to secure 3rd place. UEA, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Rhinos all won games as well.....a competitive first tournament! The results from today as well as the overall league (on a different tab) are below.
Is It In? are winners with 6 convincing wins, no team could get within 10 points of Is It In? today. Second place went to UEA who won 5 games, including a single point win over Spikers. Spikers came third with three wins. Cambridge VC, Ipswich, Medusa and Rhinos all won games as well.....a competitive first tournament!
