2015-16

I would like to give a massive thank you and huge congratulations to all the teams who have been part of the Series this season. Every tournament has seen great competitive volleyball played in the right spirit in both the Men's and Ladies' tournaments. I am very grateful that this season every team paid in advance, every team turned up when they should and every team was affiliated to Volleyball England; which really does help things run smoothly.

Congratulations to BAKS Men's team (from London) and Is It In? Ladies (from Norwich) who are Champions for 2015/16. Ladies were good and always voted for MVPs, so the top 3 female MVPs were presented with their shield, see below. Many thanks to Keith Nicholls (Volleyball England Vice President) for coming along and presenting the awards.

FORMAT

From this season, matches will be TIMED with one forced time out when teams change ends at the midway point of the game. Normal FIVB rules (inc. substitutions) are followed, except that players are allowed ONE foot on (but not over) the service line. When the time is up according to the big digital wall clock, finishing playing the point if a rally is in progress. If at the end of the game time the scores are level, then ONE more point will be played to decide the winners.

The exact schedules for the tournaments with be decided in the week before each tournament, depending on entries. If your team 'wins' overall on the Tournament day then 10 points are gained towards the overall league for the season. If you finish 2nd, then you gain 9pts and so on. Over the entire season the FOUR best scores of each team will go towards the overall season series score. This will be the same in the Men's and Ladies leagues.
