What: Eastern Bonsai Club
Where: Highland Park Community House - 47 Aviemore Drive, Highland Park, Akl. (NZ).
When: Meets 6:30pm on the 3rd Thursday evening of each month (excluding December which is too close to Christmas).
Agenda: We start the evening at 6:30pm. The first half an hour is dedicated to beginners, where we teach the basics and how to get started. The main body of the evening starts off from 7:00pm, where typical evenings may include some of either: demonstrations, informative talks, hands-on workshops, movies, etc. We finish the evening at 9:30pm.
Bring: If you are a beginner the most important things to bring are yourselves, an inquisitive mind, and a tree to work on. Choose one from a garden centre that draws your attention.
If you are a bit more experienced bring along a display tree or two as well to brighten the evening up and to inspire others. (or to get another opinion - we are never too old to learn!)
Snacks: Extreme snacking is encouraged. Refreshments (drinks and biscuits) are available throughout the night should mental energy levels fall low from Bonsai overloading.
Cost: There is no charge for visitors to come along a couple of times to see what we are about, but if you would like to join the club, membership is $6 per month or $50 for a whole year. Your contribution helps to go towards covering hall hire / refreshments / demonstrators etc.
Contact: If you have any questions / queries please do not hesitate to contact us (details on the "About us / Contact" tab at the top)
