Other Neighbourhood Watch News Items

December 2015: In Birmingham on 3 December the National Neighbourhood Watch launched the new logo. The figures within the new logo have been updated, but otherwise it differs very little from the one presently used in Cambridgeshire. It will not be used until early next year.

November 2015: As of this month we now have 150 approved coordinators in East Cambs. If we look back to the start of 2009 we had less than 100; thus a 50% increase in 6 years. Although we wish it were more this is nevertheless very encouraging.

November 2015: After almost 10 years of meeting in the Council Chamber of the District Offices our meetings throughout 2016 will be held in the Vernon Cross Room of Ely Museum. We are very grateful to the District Council for letting us have the use of such a grand setting for our meetings, but unfortunately in these austere times every-one must pay their way and we are not well placed to do this. We are therefore moving to another venue less that 100 yards away.

October 2015: Littleport Parish Council granted our application for £120 to provide free neighbourhood watch street signs for new schemes within the Parish.

September 2015: The City of Ely Council granted our application for £240 to provide free neighbourhood watch street signs for new schemes within the City.

26 March 2015: We are pleased to announce that we have secured free Public Liability Insurance for all Neighbourhood Watch and Home Watch schemes across England and Wales to enable volunteers to carry out their roles. The policy starts from the 1st April 2015 and will run until the 31st March 2016.

Immobilise your property.

The police recommend that owners register the serial numbers of their property with the Immobilise website. This gives the police a chance to return stolen property to the rightful owners when it has been recovered. http://www.immobilise.com
