This course is dedicated to a review of what are called early case assessment tools - 'thoughtware' that enables legal professionals to assess the e-data in a case before that case data is loaded into review and production software. The goal of this course is to help you analyze and review ECA 'thoughtware' and determine which programs/technologies seem to be the best fit for your situation but also the most economical solutions. Sometimes 'the best' is the most 'expensive' solution but that may or may not be the case when all is evaluated for your particular ECA needs for a particular case. Some software, although not touted as early case discovery software, can serve the purpose for smaller cases and we will review a bit of this software as well. Some software we review will go way beyond ECA in scope but for larger cases you probably want the full scope of integration between the ECA software and other ediscovery tools.
We will review various Early Case Assessment programs and delve into the terminology of ECA..
During this course I provide links to some video clips about the software and in some cases you will be able to register for trial versions both online and downloadable for further learning experiences with these companies. Always check with your IT department before downloading any shareware or trial versions of software from the web.
We do not endorse any of the programs reviewed.. The course is an early review and assessment of what ECA is all about and of some of the products available and is designed to help you compare the functionality and which might be best for your legal team.
