WHO WE ARE
The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization for high schoolers that promotes scholarship, leadership, and character. These four pillars have embodied this organization since its inception in 1921.
Today, over one million students participate in NHS activities through chapters around the nation, and we are proud to be one of them. Through active involvement in school activities and community service, we better ourselves and our world.
With a shared passion for service, we welcome you to join this prestigious and rewarding society.
SERVICE
Each member of NHS strives to provide service to the surrounding communities in order to benefit those around them. Service is seeing a need and fulfilling it voluntarily, done without compensation and with a positive, courteous, and enthusiastic spirit. The desire to help others is a value that can never afford to be lost within society.
SCHOLARSHIP
Members are committed to learning and growing, not only educationally but also personally. Having an intellectual curiosity drives one to enjoy learning new things, developing the persistence and integrity necessary to initiate positive changes in society. NHS members have a 3.70+ GPA.
LEADERSHIP
As leaders of the community, NHS members influence those around them to do something extraordinary and have a drive to change the world for the better. Leaders are problem solvers, innovative, dependable, and exemplify positive attitudes about life. Being a leader is having an innate belief that the sky is never the limit.
CHARACTER
There are endless attributes to good character: perseverance, respect, integrity, honesty, sacrifice - the list goes on. By upholding principles of morality and ethics, students become positive contributors to society. Character is not something that can be taught, but rather modeled by example.
