Angel V. Peterchev, Ph.D.
Dr. Peterchev received an A.B. degree in physics and engineering sciences from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, in 1999 and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He completed postdoctoral training in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) at Columbia University in 2007.
Dr. Peterchev is presently Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Duke University with secondary appointments in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. He was previously at the Division of Brain Stimulation and Therapeutic Modulation at the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Peterchev's primary research interests are in the development and modeling of devices and application paradigms for transcranial brain stimulation. He also conducts research in power electronics and electrical energy conversion.
