BATTLE
The Battle for Burton Bridge.
'Let her go,' screamed the Sergeant.
Released by a tug on the securing hook's chain,
the arm swung up and over
the loaded net flying out in a wider arc from its end.
As it passed above the pivot,
one of its ropes detached itself
and the barrel was launched
towards the bridge below.

Jack is given a horse to ride and ordered to carry the Baron's banner
as the host of mounted knights lined up
for the coming battle.
"Jack had never heard a sound like that
in all his life.
Nor had his little horse."
