A drawing speaks a thousand words about a product. It
(a) is an illustration of how the product looks like,
(b) provides details about the product (eg its size and dimension),
(c) shows how a product is used in its environment
(d) shows how a user can manipulate it
(e) shows how different parts can assemble or relate to each other
(f) convey ideas where words cannot aptly describe
Hence, it is important to master basic sketching skills and to supplement the design journal / design folio with sketches to show how the product is created and how ideas are transform into a real artefact.
