Game Theory Course - IDC, Spring 2012

A basic course in Game Theory taught by Prof. David Schmeidler (whom I'll be assisting).

The course deals with non-cooperative game theory as developed by J. von Neumann, Nash, and others. The Course will include the basic concepts of Non Cooperative Games and their limitations.

Main topics:

    1. Introduction and examples, two-players games.

    2. Zero-sum two games, optimal strategies and saddle points (Von Neumann).

    3. Equilibrium in games in a strategic form (Nash).

    4. Equilibrium (Aumann).

    5. Games in an extensive\dynamic form.

    6. Games with incomplete information (Harsanyi).

    7. Repeated games.

Important Announcements:

29.03.2012

    • Homework assignment 3 will be uploaded tomorrow.

    • In the first lesson after the Passover vacation there will be a mid-term exam of 30 minutes. It will include a question about finding Nash-Equilibriums in a specific game.

22.04.2012

    • The mid-term exam on Tuesday will be of the form "Bohan meytiv".

2.05.2012

    • Office hours changed to Sunday from 15:00 to 16:00.

    • I have added the list of the homeworks submitted until now and an instruction page explaining who can take the test accordingly.
