Classes

Car pooling from the "Studio on 3rd" in downtown Drumheller and pickup on route available for most outdoor classes.  

TO REGISTER FOR A CLASS :  Call/text/email the dates you would like to come.  You will receive a confirmation email with the exact meeting locations, total cost (see below for class fees), how to pay and any other pertinent details.  All class fees are non-refundable.  However, if you can't make a class, let us know as soon as possible and we'll do our best to fit you in on another day to make up for it.  A minimum of 3 people are required to run a class.  Space is limited for most classes. Registration is on a month-to-month basis and opens to current class participants before opening to the general public.

NORDIC WALKING FOR BEGINNERS (Year round.  Recommended before trying Outdoor Walking & Wellness or Walk & Tone Outdoors)

During this 1.5 - 2 hour class, you'll learn the history of Nordic walking, proper poling techniques, the benefits of Nordic walking, resistance training with your poles, stretching exercises and much more!  $25 per person, $45 per couple or FREE with the purchase of Urban Poles.  Call to book a private lesson for individuals and groups up to 8 people.

WALK & TONE INDOORS (October - April and when colder than -15°C or warmer than +30°C)

This low-impact, moderate paced aerobics class is a great cardio workout, incorporating light weights for resistance training and ending with stretching.  It's a full body workout all in one class that's adaptable to almost any fitness level...from beginners to athletes!  Class sizes are limited, so register early.  See Calendar Page for dates and locations.  Visit our Facebook page to check Drop-In availability.

WALK & TONE OUTDOORS (May - September when warmer than -15°C or cooler than +30°C)

This advanced Nordic walking class will challenge you to move faster and go farther AT YOUR OWN PACE.  Each class includes Nordic walking, resistance training and stretchingClass sizes are limited, so register early.  See Calendar Page for dates and locations.  Visit our Facebook page to check Drop-In availability.

STRETCH & MEDITATE (Year-round)

Gentle full-body stretching will be followed by a relaxation, or positive affirmations guided meditation.  Class sizes are limited, so register early.  See Calendar Page for dates and locations.  Visit our Facebook page to check Drop-In availability.

COMMUNITY DRUM CIRCLE (Year-round most Mondays (see Calendar page), 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the "Gallery on 3rd".  The door is locked at 7:05 p.m.  If you will be arriving late, please make arrangements ahead of time to be let in.

Everyone welcome.  No experience necessary.  Drums and other percussion/rhythm instruments are available to use or bring your own.  No charge.  Visit the Drumheller Drum Circle Facebook page for more details.

OUTDOOR WALKING & WELLNESS (Year round to -15° C or +30° C)

Join us at your own pace for a heart-healthy walk, combined with bodyweight resistance training, or balance/stability exercises and ending with a full body stretch.  A great class for your mental and physical well-being.  Class sizes are limited, so register early.  See Calendar Page for days and times.  Walking locations will be given upon registration.  Pre-register to secure your spot!

LINE DANCING (September - June)

What a fun way to stay active!  These classes are for those who have never line danced before, those who have taken some instruction and those who have been doing it for years.  You'll learn line dance patterns to a variety of music.  Class sizes are limited, so register early.  See Calendar Page for dates.  Visit our Facebook page to check Drop-In availability.

STEP AEROBICS (September - June)

Step aerobics is a classic cardio workout. For 30 minutes you'll step up, around, and down from a raised platform in different patterns to boost your heart rate and strengthen your muscles.  This class can also be done on the floor for a low impact alternative.  Class sizes are limited, so register early.  See Calendar Page for dates.  Visit our Facebook page to check Drop-In availability.

CUSTOM CLASSES (Year-round)

Ask about our custom classes for individuals and small groups.  You can come to us or, we can come to you with most of our classes.  They're a great way to get people moving at your workplace, community center, school, or church.   Contact us for more information.

CLASS FEES

Except for Nordic Walking for Beginners and Custom Classes, all classes are $10 and registration is on a month-to-month basis.

In the event of poor air quality or temperatures colder than -15° C or hotter than +30° C, classes will be rescheduled or moved indoors to the "Studio on 3rd" or to the instructor's home and run for one hour in the "Walk & Tone" or "Line Dancing" class format.
