Sustainable reagents and reaction media

New projects are based on the use of renovable, environmentally friendly reagents, and sustainable reaction media (green solvents, solventless reactions).

New metal complexes as catalysts in Organic Synthesis

More efficient, environmentally more convenient catalysts are developed from tailor-made organometallic structures. These new complexes are a fruitful source of catalysts for arylation (Mizoroki-Heck, Suzuki, Sonogashira, Hiyama, Buchwald-Hartwig, arylation of enolates, etc.), hydrofunctionalization, heteroannulation and other key organic reactions.

Efficient preparation of heterocycles and pharmacologically active compounds by synthetic sequences optimized with sustainability criteria

A proof of the potential of the above described catalytic systems is their application to the preparation of relatively complex molecules of interest (natural products, drugs in use or at some stage of clinical trials, new materials, etc.). Considering the advantages (economic, environmental and safety issues) of these protocols compared to the already established procedures, such reactions can become key steps in the total synthesis of a good number of drug-like compounds.
