2024-2026, Proposal co-developer, Integrative Meta-analysis of Change Processes in Individual Psychotherapy Treatment for Adults with Depression. Funding awarded by Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). This funded nomination will permit the first integration of qualitative methods and the first focus on culture-related change processes into the APA Clinical Practice Guideline development process. A proposal for AHRQ to conduct a qualitative meta-analysis on cultural change processes to inform the APA clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of adult depression, organized by the APA Evidence Based Practice and Health Equity, Director Raquel Halfond and co-drafted with committee members of the APA Advisory Steering Committee for Clinical Practice Guidelines, Heidi M. Project Goals: To develop an survey to assess an HIV intervention (public service announcement videos), that was co-developed with the community center and Dr. Sharon Horne using participatory action research, and grounded in qualitative research and focus groups we have conducted with the community center over the last five years.

C., Tao, K. and the Advisory Steering Committee of Clinical Practice Guidelines of the American Psychological Association. This statement, to be included in all future CPGs, identified two distinct but inherent limitations of our research systems and evidentiary base: (1) the need for greater evidence from diverse psychotherapy orientations and (2) the need for greater evidence on the application of psychotherapy to clients from diverse cultures. For the first time, the seventh edition of the APA publication manual detailed reporting standards for quantitative research (including qualitative meta-analyses, and mixed methods research). These reporting standards describe best practices as well as how to interpret them in design and review. APA reporting standards have an impact that carries throughout and beyond psychology as they are used across journals in the social and behavioral sciences as well.
2015-2019 – Member, APA Publication Manual Revision Task Force. Task force to oversee the revisions in the 7th edition of the APA Publication Manual. My position on the task force is to represent the concerns of the Qualitative Article Reporting Standards Working Group as its chair.
