Volunteerism
The Bristol Fire Department is an all-volunteer department. We are always looking for responsible individuals who are looking to further his or her knowledge in firefighting as well as protecting the life and safety of the general public.
Also if you are a student at Roger Williams University, you can still apply for a position with a residency waiver.
Requirements to join the company are as follows:
You must be a resident of the Town of Bristol, RI.
You must be 18 years of age or older.
In order to join, you must file an application form, available through any company member ($20.00 application fee applies)
The Applicant will sign off on having the Bristol Police Department conduct a background check (BCI).
Applicants will be voted on at the regularly scheduled company meeting held on the 1st Wednesday of each month.
Once voted in, you will have to serve a 1-year probationary period.
