.Há à nossa frente uma grande missão a ser cumprida. Ela certamente matará nosso conforto, nosso tempo livre, nosso ego, nosso orgulho e os prazeres de nossa alma. A missão é levar aos homens o conhecimento de Deus, Seu propósito quando nos ensinou amar o proximo. Quem está disposto a apresentar-se imediatamente a Deus para essa missão?
Que exército é este que marcha imponente carregando a bandeira da solidariedade? Esse exército se chama voluntariado. São milhares de voluntários em todas as partes do país e do mundo lutando pela mesma causa: transformar a sociedade em um mundo melhor para se viver, onde não haja preconceitos nem desigualdades sociais. Impulsionado pela vontade de servir e de demonstrar amor ao próximo, o voluntário é um agente transformador que contribui para melhorar a vida de milhares de pessoas.
O ano de 2001 foi escolhido como o Ano Internacional do Voluntário. Esta escolha levou a população mundial a uma consciência ainda maior da importância desse trabalho. Cidadãos de várias idades e de profissões diferentes têm-se preocupado com os problemas sociais que afetam povos de todas as nações. Não importando a classe social, o grau de escolaridade ou a idade, os voluntários doam parte do seu tempo para abençoar outras vidas. O retorno dessa doação edifica primeiramente o voluntário.

. There is before us a great mission to be fulfilled. It will certainly kill our comfort, our free time, our ego, our pride and the pleasures of our soul. The mission is to bring to men the knowledge of God, His purpose when He taught us to love our neighbor. Who is willing to come immediately to God for this mission?
What army is this that marches imposing carrying the banner of solidarity? This army is called volunteering. There are thousands of volunteers in all parts of the country and the world fighting for the same cause: transforming society into a better world to live in, where there are no social prejudices or inequalities. Driven by a willingness to serve and demonstrate love for others, the volunteer is a transformative agent who helps to improve the lives of thousands of people.
The year 2001 was chosen as the International Year of Volunteers. This choice has led the world population to an even greater awareness of the importance of this work. Citizens of various ages and different professions have been concerned with the social problems affecting people of all nations. Regardless of social class, schooling or age, volunteers donate part of their time to bless other lives. The return of that donation primarily builds the volunteer.
