New Image AcuCams

At one time, the AcuCamTM products held over 40% of the market for intra-oral cameras/endoscopes in a field of approximately 20 competitors. New Image Industries was later acquired by DentsplyTM International and is now out of business. The three top images show AcuCam systems in three of the nearly dozen carts that New Image had produced at one time or another. Under those images are pictures of the AcuCam and AcuCam plus docking station camera systems. The docking station concept was initiated by Welch-Allyne and New Image felt compelled to copy it, at a tremendous cost to profit margin. At one point, many camera systems available were "docking station format". This is no longer the case, as the low-end, all-in-one camera and image capture system dominates what market still exists. The bottom two images are of the "zero degree" (whole smile) and "90 degree" interchangeable lenses for the AcuCam/AcuCam Plus, AcuCam PC line.
