Dougie McQuillan has been a front man and singer in bands since his early teens playing a variety of music from folk, rock, pop, soul and even punk rock. Recent years have seen him performing his tribute shows to Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond & Michael Buble along with his 50's Rock n' Roll & 60's Pop shows. He is currently playing guitar with the legendary Edinburgh Soul band 'This n' That' & has played with Bee Gee, ABBA, Queen & Status Quo tribute acts. He has entertained the Royal family at Balmoral as well as on the Royal Yacht Britannia. His voice has featured in several TV and Radio commercials including talk-over and narration. As a solo artist he has supported acts such as the Proclaimers, Steve Harley, Katrina & the Waves, Tanita Tikaram and Paul Brady among others. His first solo album lead to touring extensively around Europe and the USA. His first solo single, the rocking “Modern World” was a favourite with radio stations being compared with the stadium rock sound of Simple Minds and U2. As was the follow up, “If I was your Lover”. Both received regular airplay and glowing reviews.

His album “FULL METAL ANORAK”, was nominated in the NME folk album of the year category and the track “West Highland Girl”, was used by The Scottish Tourist Board during their 2001 advertising campaign. Dougie continues to write his own material and has had songs covered by established artists but he is still very much a Live commodity and a must see on the circuit.
