Thank you for taking the time to find out more about me and my Custom Music Service. I am the owner of this small family business and the sole Disc Jockey & Master of Ceremonies. I have been blessed to serve Brevard County and Central Florida from Melbourne since 1994. It's hard to believe it's been over 20 years now, and more than three decades since I landed my first job in radio broadcasting. Time sure does fly when you're having fun! It is truly my pleasure to provide a better and more personalized alternative in premium DJ/MC entertainment.
I am also blessed to have the greatest partner any performer could hope for…my dear, sweet wife, Wendy Marie. She really enjoys helping me with my labor of love. Her assistance with coordinating itineraries, taking requests, and leading the dancing are all crucial elements in our continued success and longevity. Together, we offer a level of service that is quite rare in this profession. Wendy & I firmly believe that an unforgettable wedding or special event is only made possible by choosing the right service providers. You must feel comfortable with their personalities and confident in their abilities. Then you and your guests can just relax and enjoy yourselves. Trusting experienced professionals to do what they love is absolutely essential.
Lifelong Disc Jockey
I developed my strong passion for music and DJing at a very young age. My mother (the earliest blessing in my life) bought me my first record player when I was only five years old. She sacrificed a lot of her own needs to see to it that I always had the latest stereo, headphones, microphone, etc., along with an ever-increasing collection of music. In my early teens, she enrolled me in the Dale Carnegie Course for Successful Public Speaking, which helped me "break out of my shell" and get comfortable talking in front of an audience. My mother also made sure that music was a big part of my education. Being a percussionist in symphonic and marching bands was the very best part of my school years. She never stopped encouraging me to learn more and improve my skills. And so I dedicate this beautiful song to my Mom as she has always been my biggest fan.
Yes, like many others, I started out as a 'bedroom' DJ. I practiced tirelessly throughout my youth emulating all my on-air heroes, like Casey Kasem and Dick Clark. My training and rehearsals continued after high school in the Air Force (AFRTS) and college where I studied broadcast journalism, communications, and music, eventually earning my degree in Liberal Arts. I started performing for the public in 1985 and spent most of the next decade at several local radio stations. That real-world experience was invaluable, and I thoroughly enjoyed those years working as a Radio Announcer, Assistant Program Director, and Production Director.
Then it was time to fulfill another dream and start my own mobile DJ business, which has given me so much joy and satisfaction ever since. To me, this kind of work is not just a way to earn money. It is really about having fun expressing my God-given talents while making people happy, sharing in their celebrations with family and friends. It's the thrill I get when playing that perfect song at just the right moment. It's customizing a creative music mix according to the preferences of my clients and their guests. It's not just re-playing the same old tired songs that most DJs do.
I cater to requests and dedications, specializing in Tasteful Tunes For The Time Of Your Life! That means you won't have to worry about hearing any offensive music during your event. I don't play hardcore rap, heavy metal, or any songs with explicit lyrics. I only play the best in clean, family-friendly music, including contemporary Christian hits. My library is both eclectic and comprehensive, spanning more than a century of popular music. I've collected an unbelievable amount of songs through the years, from the earliest golden oldies to today's biggest chart toppers. And they're all mixed in the highest fidelity possible from superior sounding compact discs and pro-grade CD players. I don't use low-quality MP3 files auto-mixed with software from a laptop. I am still a true Disc Jockey, not a PCDJ. Why? Because I like doing it this way, and I have always been an audiophile, someone who believes that sound quality is just as important as the musical recording itself. Sure, you can call me "old school" if you want. I don't mind at all. I know I'm similar to those DJs who used to play vinyl records after compact discs became mainstream. But I also know you will hear the difference in the music when I unite that older but lossless digital format with the newest innovations in high-end audio electronics and sound reinforcement.
An integral part of that difference is my state-of-the-art, primary and compact PA systems. I am proud to offer the most technically advanced and sonically superior loudspeakers ever created for mobile use. I can even supply DC battery power when necessary. Plus, I customize each setup for the size of the venue and number of guests in order to optimize sound quality and volume level. But as most folks realize, having high-fidelity music and an excellent sound system does not guarantee great entertainment. It's not just what is provided, but how and by whom. You must also have a seasoned performer who is mature, reliable and polished. Rest assured, I have the expertise that only comes from working many years as a Disc Jockey and Master of Ceremonies. I won't just play the music you want to hear, but I will take care of all introductions and announcements during your event with class and grace. And I will interact with you and your guests as much or as little as you like. I know the highest compliment my clients can give is the referral of their family and friends. So I promise I will strive for your complete satisfaction. As you can see from my Client Reviews, the service I provide is worth far more than your investment.
Custom Pricing, Too
Unlike many DJs who consider all their gigs to be the same, I don't have a standard hourly rate for every event. That's mainly because each client is unique with different wants and needs, so no two events are exactly the same. I don't have a bunch of confusing packages either. My pricing is all-inclusive and starts at $400 for the smallest, shortest, most basic events where I perform with my Compact Sound System. Your exact price will be customized, just like your music, and based on many factors, including day & date, times & duration, services requested, venue size & location, equipment needed, and setup conditions. In other words, you tell me what you want and I'll tell you what I charge. And though I don't offer a one-size-fits-all price, I only have one level of service... the best! No, I am not bragging. I'm just saying that the quality of my work doesn't depend on the price, and I believe the best way to do business is to make your hiring decision as easy as possible. I always provide the same high level of performance, individualized planning, and meticulous attention to detail, no matter how large or small an event may be. So what exactly does all-inclusive pricing mean when booking a mobile DJ? Let me sum it up for you:
But No Cheese, Please
Now let me also say that I am not the right choice for everyone. If you happen to like a cheesy type of Disc Jockey (think goofy glasses, inflatable props, and silly games), then you probably won't care for my unpretentious demeanor. My ego is fully in check, and I don't crave being the center of attention. I won't talk too much, or even at all if that's really what you want, and I certainly won't try to turn your event into a comedy show. I prefer to let my clients be the stars of their own wedding or party, while my wife and I assist in making the occasion memorable for all the right reasons. Remember, my slogan is "Tasteful Tunes For The Time Of Your Life!" I'm quite content to leave the cheese to those other, usually lower-priced DJs who have their niche to fill.
Speaking of price again, if money is all that matters and you are only shopping around for the cheapest DJ you can find, then you may want to look elsewhere. But hopefully, you realize that like other services, you get what (or who) you pay for. It's no secret that entertainment often plays the most significant role in the success of an exceptional event. So you should invest accordingly and never base such a critical decision on cost alone. Are you determined to find the highest quality DJ/MC entertainment in our area? Do you want someone who truly cares about helping to create a classy celebration that is everything you envision and more? If so, we should talk as soon as possible since my availability is limited. After all, Wendy & I only have a certain number of open dates on our calendar...and time is flying!
Feel free to contact me anytime to discuss your event. We can even meet together in person if you want. That way we will make sure I am the right DJ/MC for you and you are the right client for me. No charge, no pressure, and no hard feelings if we find out we’re not. Once you understand the true value of what I have to offer, you can make a fair comparison of my Custom Music Service to any other mobile Disc Jockey & Emcee. And, of course, you will gain the peace of mind that comes from knowing you definitely picked the right one.
Thanks again for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing all about your special event.
