3rd International Workshop
on
5G and Beyond Technology-enabled Remote e-Health (5G Remote Health)
Scopes and Topics:
High-quality hospitals and health resources are mostly in big cities. Villages and remote areas are lack of such medical institutions and resources. Rapid siphon effect of big city makes the remote area’s health conditions even worse. In literature, fifth generation and beyond technology-enabled e-Health (5GB Remote Health) enables the doctor in big cities to remotely diagnose and treat their patients via reliable high speed and low latency wireless connections. Patients living in remote areas thus can share the high-quality medical resources without actually moving or traveling to big cities. On the other hand, 5GB Remote Health can play an important role for the rescue and relief work while encountering some emergency conditions or disasters. 5GB Remote Health can also improve the service quality of in-hospital tasks, e.g., it can relief the frequent ward rounds.
Currently, studies on 5GB Remote Health are still limited, and the existing technologies are still not enough for its implementations. For instance, according to our test, only about 7ms latency is achieved by the current 5G networks, which is almost non-applicable for some applications such as remote surgery. Additionally, the health information protection and the secured transmission are also important issues for the 5GB Remote Health. Some legislations and ethics issues from the government are also required. Currently, less attentions or endeavors have been put on these topics. This Workshop is designed to attract papers that will address the key challenges of 5GB Remote Health. Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished papers in any of, but not limited to, the following or related topics of interest:
Physical layer technologies for 5GB Remote Health; i.e., massive multi-input multi-output (MIMO), millimeter wave (mmWave), non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), licensed/unlicensed frequency bandwidth
Networking technologies for 5GB Remote Health; i.e., software defined networking (SDN), information-centric networking, content-centric networking, network slicing
New architecture technologies for 5GB Remote Health; i.e., heterogeneous networks (HetNets), mobile edge computing
Optimal resource allocation technologies for 5GB Remote Health; i.e., proactive caching, optimal frequency
Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for 5GB Remote Health; i.e., surgical robotics, medical image processing, unmanned ambulance
Cyber security and information protection technologies for 5GB Remote Health; i.e., radio frequency (RF) fingerprint detection and authentication, encryption and decryption algorithm, mimicry defense
State-of-the-art 5GB Remote Health applications for Coronavirus-19 and remote area’s medical conditions
