Why Become a DRCV Member?

Disaster events such as Hurricane Katrina and the Joplin Tornado have demonstrated that the private sector is critical for effective community response and recovery after a major disaster. 
FEMA estimated that up to 40% of businesses fail following a natural or manmade disaster.  In a survey conducted by the American Red Cross and FedEx, 94% of small business owners believe that a disaster would seriously disrupt their business operations.
DRCV is working to make the Chippewa Valley more disaster resilient by encouraging private-public partnering and by promoting disaster preparedness among businesses and other organizations.
We cannot achieve our mission without the participation and support of our members.  DRCV relies on volunteer support and contributions.  Membership fees fund our organizational activities, educational outreach, and events. 

Member Benefits:

  • Help make your community more disaster resilient by providing input into DRCV activities and promoting private-public partnering.
  • By attending our events, performing continuity planning, and networking with other DRCV members, learn how to better prepare your business or organization for a disaster.
  • Register for DRCV events at a discounted rate.  Members joining at the $50 or $100 levels may bring co-workers to DRCV events at the discounted rate as well.
  • Members joining at the $50+ level receive a DRCV Window Cling and informational packet.
