Setting (Time & Place)

Plot (Sequence of Events)

• Exposition = Intro to the setting, characters, & problem of the story

• Rising Action = Events the characters embark on to solve the problem (this is the bulk of the book)

• Climax = Turning point (this is the most exciting part we've been reading for... the problem is faced here)

• Falling Action = Events leading to how the problem will be solved

• Resolution = How the problem is finally solved
