Business Intelligence (BI) is a discipline that encapsulate various themes, definitions and tools such as data warehouse, multidimensional modeling and ETL (extract, transformations and load). It is called conventional BI because from it were created a lot of others concepts related with data. For instance, Big Data. There are many important writers that consider Big Data the new BI, assuming the BI is going to disappear soon. On the other hand, others disagree. For them, BI and Big Data are different subjects and they have different concepts. I particularly believe that each one has its place and can work separated or complementing each other.
