Major Padmapani Acharya, MVC (21 June 1969 – 28 June 1999) was an officer in the Indian Army. He was awarded the second highest Indian military honour, Maha Vir Chakra posthumously for his actions during the Kargil War on 28 June 1999 . He Was alumni of IHM ,Bhubaneswar from 1986-1989.

Library holds a rich and diverse range of materials in Humanities and Social Science discipline. Established in 1982, the Library today is truly a 21st century resource center. The Library has been established to facilitate, promote and support research to Fellows of the Institute. It is one of the leading research and reference libraries in Hospitality and Tourism in the country. The Hospitality and Tourism collections, in fact, are worldwide in coverage and significance. It has grown into one of the most prestigious and well-equipped resources in Hospitality and Tourism sector.
The Library is open during the institute hours.
8.00 a.m- 8.00 p.m
The Library remains closed on Saturday, Sunday and authorized holidays.
