Cub Scouts is a family-centered program designed for boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grade. It’s more than just an activity – it’s an adventure full of exciting experiences, new friendships, and valuable life lessons.

4 Steps to Register:

1. Register your child online: Please visit this website or scan the QR Code below. This annual fee is $100 for 2025-2026, which covers National and Council fees. 

2. Pay the Local Pack Dues: For 2026 it will be $50 (which can be broken into payments if necessary). Please Zelle treasurer@dgpack3086.com

3. Join our Pack on BAND app: The app has our calendar of events and communication. Join here!

4.  Fill out our family survey: we ask everyone complete a short survey to learn about your child's interests, skills and ways, you might get involved (big or small)

Meetings:

We typically meet every third Thursday of the month @ 6:30pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (4501 Main St. Downers Grove IL) for our Pack Night (all grades). We have additional activities throughout the month, including hikes generally every second Saturday of the month and Den meetings (grade specific) decided on by each den. We have a campout every Fall and Spring and an Overnight at a Museum every winter. For more info, please download our BAND app for dates and communications and our calendar (attached). 

Dues:

A full year of Scouting is $150. This includes:

• $100 for National and Council fees

• $50 for local dues

What that Gets You:

Cub Scouts is a FULL-YEAR program. We hold meetings throughout the school year and have campouts, hikes, and other activities throughout the entire year. Compare that to a sport, camp, or other extracurricular activity that may only last 6-8 weeks.

In addition to an exciting, educational experience, the Pack provides stuff for your Scouts, too:

• Adventure Loops & Pins - As your Scout completes Adventures they will earn Belt Loops and Pins for each accomplishment.

• Rank Awards - As Scouts earn their ranks we provide patches, pins, and certificates to honor their achievements.

• Pinewood Derby Car - We do a Pinewood Derby every winter and the Pack will provide a car to all registered Scouts. More cars may be purchased for siblings.

• Events & Activities - The Pack hosts a number of events and activities, like our Blue & Gold Banquet, camping, overnights, etc. The Pack often covers all or some of these costs. Some will have additional costs to attend.
