Pack Campouts
Pack 86 camps as a Pack twice a year, once in fall and once in spring! We always choose somewhere nearby such as Greene Valley in Naperville or Waterfall Glen in Lemont in order to make it easiest for everyone to come, especially for families new to camping. At our Fall campout we welcome new families joining our Pack during our campfire program and in Spring we have our Advancement Campout where Cub Scouts that have earned their rank for the year are honored during a special ceremony. The cost of our campouts are 100% covered by our dues and fundraising. The Pack can help families borrow tents or sleeping bags from our local Troop friends on request.
Pack Overnights
Each year, the Pack plans a special overnight trip (or two!) to somewhere 1-4 hours away. In recent years we have done Dozin' with the Dinos at the Field Museum in Chicago, U.S.S. Silversides Submarine Overnight in Manitowoc, MI, camping on the field at the Schaumburg Boomers Stadium, and the Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Museum in Kalamazoo, MI. To encourage attendance, the overnight costs are subsidized by our Pack’s dues and fundraising, but there is usually an extra fee for scouts and adults.
Pathway to Adventure Council Summer Camps
The council to which our Pack belongs has some great summer offerings! Every year we organize groups from our Pack to go together to the local Day Camp, Family Camp (Camp Betz in Berrien Springs, MI) and Resident Camps (Camp Owassippe, Twin Lakes MI) To encourage attendance, the camp fees are subsidized by Pack dues and fundraising, but there is usually an additional cost to scouts and adults.
