We have a one year health guarantee for any genetic or congenital defects. Please read through the document for specific information. If you buy a puppy from us, you must produce this signed contract from the puppy sale if you have a problem with your pup.
Health Guarantee
This puppy to the best of my knowledge is completely healthy. In the event that this animal is diagnosed with a life threatening congenital/genetic defect or chronic congenital/genetic defect requiring treatment during one year from the date of birth, the pup may be returned for a refund or exchange. A written and detailed report from the attending veterinarian must be provided that proves conclusively a pre-existing problem is present in the animal. This guarantee is void in the event of an indeterminable or inconclusive diagnosis. Adequate documentation from the attending veterinarian must be received by the seller within eight days from the diagnosis before a refund or exchange will be made. All veterinarian fees will be paid by the buyer.
The seller may request that the pup is returned for a refund. However, if the seller decides that buyer may keep the pup, the buyer will provide written proof of spay or neuter by the veterinarian that performed the surgery. The buyer will not be eligible for a refund or replacement pup until the proof of spay or neuter is provided.
This guarantee does not include any illness due to the ingestion of foreign objects, improper food, chemicals, physical injuries, or environmental factors. This guarantee does not include any illness due to the ingestion of foreign objects, improper feeding or supplementing, ingestion of chemicals, physical injury, or environmental factors. This guarantee does not warrant against Giardia, Viral or Bacterial infections and Hypoglycemia. This guarantee does not guarantee nor is limited to Parvo, Coccidiosis, Distemper or Corona Virus, Kennel Cough, Pneumonia, Lyme disease, Heartworm, Rabies. These diseases can be contracted once the puppy leaves the sellers home and seller will have no control over the environment the puppy is kept in or exposed to. This guarantee does not cover behavioral or training issues. Bernese need Fat in their diet. I require that you feed your pup and adult berner a food with at least 15% fat. A hungry dog can be a naughty dog. This guarantee does not cover any injury sustained to the puppy by other acts such as but not limited to an injury from another animal or accident with a vehicle.
Vaccinating carelessly can result in adverse reactions and/or jeopardize the long-term health of your dog. The buyer agrees to follow the vaccination and worming schedule provided by the breeder and will be careful not to vaccinate the puppy earlier than the 3 week intervals that are recommended for Distemper and Parvovirus and no earlier than 15 weeks for Rabies. This contract will be null and void if the puppy is vaccinated in any way other than what is stated above. The worming information is included in this packet of info. The use of Bravecto topicals will make this contract null and void because of side effects that can include seizures.
The seller believes the risk of orthopedic issues drastically increases on large breed dogs which are spayed or neutered at a young age. Therefore we ask that the buyer agree to spay or neuter this puppy no earlier than 9 months of age. If the buyer chooses to spay or neuter before 9 months of age this contract is null and void.
A buyer who purchases a puppy with Limited AKC Registration agrees that the animal will be spayed/neutered no earlier than 9 months and will not be used for breeding for any reason. Should you wish to breed your dog at some point you must contact the breeder and follow the proper protocol, have the proper health testing done and passed, pay the breeder the additional money owed for a Full AKC Registered dog, and have your paperwork changed to Full AKC Registration which can only be done by the breeder at their discretion. Should you breed your dog without permission and without the proper Full AKC Registration paperwork authorized by the breeder you are subject to a unauthorized breeding fine of $2,000 that must be paid to the breeder immediately and you must provide the breeder with proof of spay or neuter at the earliest date possible. Should you continue to breed your dog without the breeder’s permission your dog you will be subject to a $5,000 fine and you will need to return your dog to the breeder with AKC papers signed over. Absolutely no breeding mix breed dogs of any kind, for any reason, not even for therapy work!!! NO BERNEDOODLES!! There is an additional contract rider for Full AKC Registration puppy sales.
If a puppy is purchased for breeding and is diagnosed with a non-life threatening problem, making it ineligible for breeding, the price difference between Full Registration and Limited Registration for a pup from that litter will be refunded after proof of spay or neuter.
Puppies are a big responsibility of time and financial commitment. We care so much for our puppies and have invested so much energy and love into them. We realize that sometimes the commitment can be more than you bargained for. We ask that, in the event that you are not able to care for your Berner pup — FOR ANY REASON—you will contact us to take your puppy back and re-home it. We always know people who are looking for these wonderful companions. Out of respect for us as breeders and for our puppies, we ask that you DO NOT sell or place our Berner puppies without our knowledge. We will always take the puppy back! Please do not place your Berner puppy with a broker, puppy mill, pet store or rescue shelter of any kind without contacting us. It reflects poorly on breeders when our dogs are found in these places, and it is not necessary. We are small breeders and are seriously concerned for our puppies throughout their entire lives. We are always available for you and your new pup at any point in the process. If at any time you should move please notify the breeder and provide updated contact information so we can continue to stay in touch.
If at any time legal action is taken by either party the buyer is responsible for ALL/ FULL legal fees and expenses incurred.
