You will find the ship by climbing the cliffs outside of Solitude across the harbor. The ship is parked behind the Blue Palace, overlooking the Morthal Swamp. Be warned, the Thalmor want this marvel for themselves!

Since version 1.6, the original Dev Aveza Configuration Book has been removed. This book no longer exists, please stop looking for it.
The ship can be configured via the Menu Configuration Menu from Sky UI. Configuration options are as follows:
Main Configuration Page
Flight Mode: Swap between "Attached to Ship" with a trailing camera, or "Player on Deck" where you can walk around the deck and fight anything in sight. Also allows setting of toggle between these modes, which is End by default.
Interior: Set mode to "Full Cabin" (default), "Original Cabin" or "Alternate Cabin". This option is not available while inside the ship.
Exterior: Set mode to "Armed", "Dark" (default) or "Original". This option is only available within sight range of the ship.
Debug Functions: Allows turing on or off "Lighting During Flight", "Script Latency Flight Stop" and "Debug" (a verbose message system that runs during flight). Also lists current worldspace, location, altitude and Z height. When stored these items may appear as "Unknown," but this is not an issue and is expected behavior. This may also occur in custom worldspaces that do not have a string to return these values.
Reset Function: This checkmark will reset the steering wheel if becomes unusable for any reason. Your character will also be placed at the wheel, useful when you are unable to reach the deck or in case of falling emergencies. This option is unavailable if the ship is not already nearby (visible/3D loaded).
Advanced Configuration Page
Assign customized keys for steering. Default key controls are listed above.
Assign customized power and mass limits. This allows you to adjust speeds and movements to work optimally within your Skyrim environment.
Auto Docking: If you approach a docking point at reduced speed, you will be pulled into the docking animation. It is uninterruptable, like docking in Clear Skies. If you approach at an extreme angle, you will recieve a message saying so. You will need to adjust the angle of approach and try again. There is only one included docking point with the ship by itself, which is where you find it behind Solitude. Legacy of the Dragonborn includes more.
Alpha Feature - Collision Awareness: Will turn on a form of collision awareness for the ship, which will do a camera shake and bounce the ship off of large obstacles.
Compatibility Page
Legacy of the Dragonborn: This item will turn itself on if it detects LotDB in your setup. It disables the changes to the area around Solitude for the ship dock. If available for selection without LotDB, this could potentially be used for compatibility with other mods that alter that area, but you will need to make a beacon to summon the ship.
Flight: The steering wheel on the pilot's tower is a good, immersive way to start flying your ship!
Disembarking: The plank is port side of the bow, the giant bolts hide an activation switch. If the plank is stuck, try pressing the button again.
Disembarking: The rope ladder is on the starboard side, directly across from the plank. Again, the bolts there hide the activation switch.
Beacons: Airship captains with a knack for Dwemer smithing can now construct travel beacons. Drop one on the ground and set it up, and it's light will help you guide your ship back to the beacon in the future. Plot the course to active beacons with your map, or use a beacon on the ground to summon the ship. Only one beacon can be active in each worldspace at a time, and cannot be placed inside of cities or buildings.
Cabin: Remember to have a look at the hatch on the port side between the pilot's tower and the port sail-wing.
Cabin: All three interiors seem to have some kind of dwemer clank infestation. Although we haven't been able to catch sight of them, they have been sorting all items dropped into the "storage" chest or cupboard closest to the hatch. Flipping the lever next to it will cause them to bring back all objects then shut down, but flipping it a second time will reactivate them.
When playing with both Dev Aveza and Legacy of the Dragonborn, certain changes are made to accommodate the ship's inclusion with that mod. Here are some things to keep in mind:
Acquisition: The Dev Aveza is incorporated into a quest in LotDB, and therefore will no longer be found waiting outside of Solitude.
Interior: LotDB includes a custom interior for the Dev Aveza. This interior is not made or maintained by us, so any problems with it needs to be taken to the LotDB's creators. Switching interiors or exteriors with LotDB is disabled.
Beacons: The beacon system is disabled in LotDB by default, however you can install the patch on the Dev Aveza's Nexus page to reenable them. This is mostly for the benefit of bringing the ship to large worldspaces that do not have docking points added to them by LotDB, like Beyond Skyrim - Bruma. In the map room, to the right of the globe and scrolls, you can find the map for the beacon system.
