Local area amateur radio clubs do occasionally host formal training classes. Self-study is also available using very well written study guides. I can recommend the two below for your first license (Technician Class License is he first license class). There are two more license classes after Technician. Each step up opens the operator to the ability to use more frequency bands. Some folks are very happy with their Technician Class License and stay there.
As you study, we highly recommend that you take practice tests. Keep taking practice tests until you routinely get 85% or better. The web sites below all use the same actual exam question pool that the real Licensing Exam utilize. You will be seeing actual exam questions. Now remember there are 423 questions in the current technican class test pool, so while you may not see all of them, these practice tests will give you a good sense of whatto expect on the exam and eveluate your readiness to take the exam.
Exams are offered both in-person and online in remote, web based exam session which utilize Zoom. During the online remote exams, you use you PC/Laptop camera so the examiners can see the room you are in and watch you during the exam. They will also have you share your PC desktop so they can see what you are seeing on your screen.
