My IT Career

I have pursued IT career since 2001 and obtained a Masters degree in Computer Science in 2003 at Clemson University, SC. I have applied IT technologies and parallel computing successfully to the research projects in the area of the bimolecular modeling & simulation from 2003 to 2006. After that, I started to work as an Oracle DBA for three private big organizations in the banking and telecommunication industry till now. I have been passionate about obtaining a deep and thorough understanding of how database works and internals. I become an Oracle certified professional (OCP) in 2007. Having understood the steep learning curve throughout a DBA’s career, I have been strongly motivated and devoted to improving my technical depth continuously through diligent reading, testing, experimenting, documenting and blogging.

I am able to contribute to managing proactively any critical production Oracle databases as a self-motivated quick learner with the exact mindset of a responsible production DBA. I am good at maintaining and improving the performance of production systems with extensive experience and skills in troubleshooting database issues and performance tuning.  I am interested in supporting the whole life cycle of database application development as a believer and practitioner of “Design for Performance” principle.
