Very generous grants from the Delaware Area Council for Older Adults and the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities provided us the opportunity to create the Creative Living Center.
This 900 square foot showroom of accessible modifications opened in 2005 and allows you to visualize how an environmental modification might help you or your loved one's accessibility in your home environment. There is a stair lift, an accessible kitchen and bathroom, accessible doorways and ramps for you to try.
Along with the Center is a Medical Equipment Lending Library. We accept donations of used equipment such as wheelchairs, lifts, toys, bath seats and chairs, etc. Volunteers help us clean the equipment so it can be available as needed to lend to others at no charge. When you no longer have a need for the borrowed equipment, just bring it back and we will prepare it for the next person who needs it. Everyone has probably known someone that had an unused shower chair or wheelchair or cane taking up space and not knowing what to do with it... donate it to us... and we'll lend it to someone who can use it!
Medical equipment lending library items you can donate / borrow might include:
