HAPPY TAILS DOG TRAINING, LLC. RULES AND LIABILITY WAIVER for our Group settings
*Most of our courses consist of six consecutive sessions--one hour each week. Each week builds on what was taught the week before. There are six dates reserved for your class. Should you miss a class and want to do a makeup, as a courtesy we can, but there is a makeup fee of $15 for each week that needs to be made up since it would now fill a private time slot. There is no guarantee you will be able to get the same day of the week/time for your makeup class. Please understand this is a 6-week commitment. The price listed is per course, not prorated. You are paying for the course.
Level 1 (STAR PUPPY) is required to have a minimum of 6 weeks of training to get the AKC award. If you finish the course and still need a makeup, you have a 2-week window after graduation to complete the missed lesson. You can still graduate Level 1 (if you pass the test) without doing a makeup, but you will not receive the AKC award/form. With the other levels/courses, there is no mandatory number of lessons; however, we do build on what is learned from the previous weeks’ lessons, so it is important to try to complete all the lessons.
It is best to have the same handler each week. If someone else in the family is going to have to replace the normal handler for a week, that family member really should try to attend and observe the class the week before so they are not totally lost.
*There is a 2-foot rule while on Happy Tails’ property. No dog is to be within 2 feet of another dog at any time. We never let dogs go nose to nose while lunging and pulling on a leash.
*If your female dog comes in season while you are enrolled in a class, you cannot bring her to class –call to discuss your options.
*No refunds are offered after you attend the first class. That spot in the class is now reserved for you for the six weeks—and, we have probably turned someone else away. We understand that unforeseen circumstances do occur, which is why we offer the private makeup sessions as a courtesy to those in group settings.
We do not accept dogs with aggression issues in our program, and if aggression is seen, dog cannot remain in a group setting. Other arrangements will have to be made.
