Tech

It's worth having a look at Vocal Workshop by Paul Baloche on you tube - near the end are tips for tech.

Tips is you are bringing power-points, video or pictures for the service:

Given enough time, we can cope with most word/audio/video formats, but for smooth running and reduction of my blood pressure, please follow these guidelines.

Bring it early: It helps to have media/power points/song lists early. We will try to include it whatever time you give it to us, but if anything is not working then it might just be abandoned for that day. Bring it on a memory stick or CD. If you can then also email it to your tech team in advance.

Videos: SongPro will play DVDs, .wmv or .avi format videos. Otherwise we will use VLC to play videos. Note: YouTube videos are in flash format which SongPro4 doesn't support but VLC will. To download YouTube videos see here.

Sound: .MP3 is preferred, but anything that is not too restricted by DRM is OK. Apple's native format probably won't work. (The message here is Apple don't like you to use non-Apple devices to play their media).

Pictures: A single picture can be any format, but if you have a collection then put them into power-point.

Power point: Chris has updated office, so we can use the 2014 format and are no longer restricted to 2003 format. If you want to interlace worship with power point then split the power point presentation into small presentations to fit between the songs since song pro can not switch between songs & go back to any point in a power point - it will always go to the start of a power point. NOTE: If you have music or video in your power point: Sound or videos do not get stored within the power point file and remain as separate files. When you hand the power point to the tech team remember to hand over the sound and video files too.

Words for new songs: use .TXT format (notepad), or word. Send new songs to the tech team early. If you bring a new song on the morning of the service then something won't get set up since it is difficult to type & plug in wires at the same time. (I know - a woman could do that!).
