2015 Competition Rules

The 6' x 12' arena contains a 4 x 8 grid of white and purple squares. Half the squares contain a 2" retroreflective cube. Between each square is a 0.75" diameter half-round barrier, painted black. The arena is surrounded by a 12" white wall.

A round lasts 3 minutes. To score, move a cube into your color square for 1 point. Every cube stacked on another cube is 2 points.

Robots must automatically turn off after 3 minutes. A robot that continues to move after 3 minutes will be penalized 5 points. A robot may not be turned off by a team before 3 minutes has passed.

Robots will be removed from the arena by the judges after 3 minutes. Cubes that are not stacked and do not touch the white or purple surface do not count. Cubes that fall or shift when a robot is removed will count where they land.

Robots will be penalized 5 points for every cube that is removed from the arena, including cubes that are removed when a judge removes the robot from the arena.

Judges have the final say when interpreting the rules.
