George was my father, he died in 2006. In 2017, after contact with family members on the Tustin side of the family, and the sharing of family information, I decided to gather material about George and put it together in one of Google's websites, both to preserve the information and as an exercise with this medium. Google's websites were converted to a later version in 2020/21 and the original site took on a new look; hopefully it will now remain available for the foreseeable future.
George made it to 89 years and only in his last three months did he go downhill as illness caught hold of him.
In his old age and in quiet reverie, he sat at the kitchen table and made notes about his life which, in due course, his daughter, Elaine, typed up and shared. This document, "His Annals," is a personal account of his life and experiences from 1916 up into the 1950s when family life with his wife, Alice and three children was settled in the family home in Whittle-le-Woods.
George's annals form a strong base for the starting point of this site, allowing photographs to be added to his text and for me to add notes from other sources as we travel along his timeline.
