You want to join our group for phD or post-doc research, how can you proceed?

If you have good grades or CV, the best way you can undertake a PhD. thesis or a post-doc here is by applying to a public competitive grant. The most common institutions hosting open calls for grants suitable for our institution are these:

• • Spanish Gvmt. - Science Department. Largest convocatorias (calls) for PhD candidates are named Becas FPI, FPU, and I3. Postdoc contracts are internationally competitive, look for the Juan de la Cierva and the Ramón y Cajal.

  • CSIC grant bourse. Includes the JAE-predoc and JAE-doc grants. PhD profiles currently offered are here. Applications (a project included) must be sent to the CSIC and require good graduation qualifications above ~1.7.

  • Generalitat de Catalunya grant bourse. Grant search engine available at http://www.gencat.cat/diue/ambits/ur/index_en.html

  • European calls.

    • Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowships H2020.

    • Marie Curie grants FP7.

Suggestions for a hotel/residence near our institute?

• Melon Distric residence, central, unexpensive, 20 min by metro from the institute.

• There is the Residencia Penyafort, about 200 m walk from ICTJA. Booking with >1 month advance is essential. A single room with private bathroom costs about 60 €/night. From 8 nights on they apply 10 % discount. Reservations: tel. 93 216 27 08 or reserves_penyafort@ub.edu

• There is also a CSIC residence for researchers, downtown near the Ramblas. Single room ~67 e/night. Reservations: info@residencia-investigadors.es or online.
