The Japanese House of Representatives Elections Dataset (JHRED)

Description: This candidate-level panel dataset includes all persons who ran in any general election or by-election for the Japanese House of Representatives since 1947. In addition to variables related to vote and district characteristics, the dataset contains a number of variables related to biographical characteristics and post-election cabinet appointments.

The dataset is updated regularly. A public-release version that corresponds to the version used in Dynasties and Democracy (includes elections up to 2014) is accessible through the Harvard Dataverse.

Norwegian Storting Elections, 1906-2021

Description: This original candidate-level dataset includes detailed information on all candidates in all elections to the Norwegian Storting (parliament) from 1906-2021. The dataset contains information on biographical candidates' gender, hometown, and prior occupation, party affiliation, district, and election results.
