Founder/Director - Cara Campbell

Cara started her journey of dance at the age five studying tap and ballet. During the next few years dance became a huge part of her life as she became involved in various performing arts groups specializing in musical theater, dance and fine art.Summers and academic breaks were spent attending dance intensives and camps around the U.S. exposing her to many different styles of dance , and other art venues. During the school year she spent most evenings training and was also able to join the varsity drama team at the age of 11 being the youngest member ever. Here she was able to travel and perform locally in the East Texas and Dallas area .At age 14 ballet became her focused style but continued to train in all areas of dance.

In 1998, after graduating from the School of Performing Arts in Tyler Texas, she continued on there as a student teacher for two more years. This school challenged her in her dance and musical theater abilities and also introduced lighting and set design. Many hours were also spent on dance history and anatomy to better understand her art. In 2000 she moved to Lakeside, MT joining a local dance company touring internationally to countries such as Kenya, India, and Canada.During her years in Lakeside she began teaching her technique of dance and love for the arts . She was not only a dancer but led and trained dancers on tour overseas to perform. She also had the opportunity to perform with bands across the nation.

In 2001 she founded the touring dance company Sidewalk Productions. During this time Cara was able to create elaborate set, light and multi media designs . She was also responsible to train a touring staff on how to handle aspects of a touring company. She was responsible to set up tour dates , communicate with hosts on housing for her company, as well as communicate with promotion teams in each location. While touring she made sure her company members stayed strong in their technique , holding dance classes in each location. Sidewalk Productions often was asked to go into local schools ,arts academy and colleges to teach drama, dance, theater and P.E. classes. As well as holding assemblies on the importance of the arts and expressing oneself in a safe and healthy way. Sidewalk Productions would perform at civic centers for thousands or be hosted by a small town. The company toured nationally for 6 years for 6 months at a time with a cast and crew averaging 18.

In the fall of 2009 she founded the Lakeside Dance Studio which is located in Lakeside Montana. Over the years the Lakeside Dance Studio has grown from 15 to 80 students. She offers dance classes of most styles and all levels are welcome. We have also grown to offer gymnastics, fine art, music lessons and karate. Cara has a passion to teach what she loves over the years. It is essential to have a safe place to have children express themselves while offering quality technique and encouraging their character to grow in a positive way. She is excited to see more growth in the years to come.

Cara has enjoyed teaching and directing many local dancers and artists in several productions over the years. Some of her favorite productions have been Alice in Wonderland, Peace Child ,Greece Junior and Lion King.
