    • Winner, prize for the best paper published in the field of environmental and resource economics in the years 2009-2011, awarded by the Spanish Portuguese Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, for the paper “On Reducing the Windfall Profits in Environmental Subsidy Programs”, published in 2009 in the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management (joint with Carmen Arguedas);
    • Nominated for the best paper in economics by Dutch economists 2012, Royal Economics Association Netherlands (KVS), for the paper “Can informational rents ever be avoided? Optimal conservation programs, endogenous investments, and heterogeneity in land owner preferences” (joint with Carmen Arguedas and Justin Dijk);

  • Invited expert for the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation (ELI)’s workshop on nature management in the Netherlands (October 12, 2011) – key note address;
  • Invited expert for the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ)’s project on the future of energy supply and demand in the Netherlands (2008);
  • Interviews for various radio programs (Radio 1, BNR Nieuwsradio, local stations) and newspapers (Volkskrant, AD, Trouw); about twice a year;
