- Virus Hoax Checking

You might receive an email from a friend or family member warning you of the latest and greatest virus making it's way through the internet and on to your system.   Many of these virus "alerts" are nothing more than a hoax. 

If you are not sure if a virus "alert" is genuine you can check it out using the resources below.  

Remember, some warnings can be valid, so make sure to install a some kind of virus software on your computer, smart phones, etc.  And once you install a virus scanning software, make sure to keep it updated!   The software is only as good as the virus definitions (updates) are.
