He or she manages our private, internal infrastructure, including this internal website and mailing lists. See this person for access to most group private resources.
He or she oversees the public website and makes sure we get our name out there. Let this person know whenever you have some exciting news to broadcast (e.g., you get a paper accepted).
He or she runs the status meeting and is the contact when calling in.
He or she schedules the weekly group meeting. Contact this person when you want to speak at the group meeting (e.g., to give a practice talk or an extended project update).
He or she organizes the weekly reading group. To do so, he or she twists arms to ensure there is a discussion leader and paper selected each week. He or she organizes volunteers to have a reading group lunch once a month.
For a reading group lunch, he or she should get an expected number attendees and place a lunch order the day before. When placing the order, inform the food establishment that Evan will call back with a credit card number to make the payment. Also note to the food establishment that the order is for CU and should be tax-exempt. Send an e-mail to Evan to make the payment with the phone number of the food establishment. Make sure whoever picks up the food gets an itemized receipt (not just the credit card receipt). At the reading group lunch, get a list of all attendees. After the lunch meeting, send the receipts and the list of attendees to Evan.
